Website privacy policy
How this website handles your information
This policy covers drjonestherapy.com, the website of the therapy practice of Melissa Baker Jones, PsyD, LMFT (California License MFC 51801). It is separate from the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices you receive as a client, which governs your health information. Effective 2026-10-28.
What this site collects
Contact form. When you request a call, the form sends your name, email address, optional phone number, the topic you choose, your preferred contact method and any message you type to Formspree, the service that delivers it to my email. Please keep health details out of the form; it is for scheduling only. Formspree's handling of submissions is described in its own privacy policy.
Spam protection. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile may process technical information about your browser and connection to do this.
Phone, text and email links. Tapping a phone or email link opens your own phone or mail app. Nothing is sent to this website, though the click is counted for advertising measurement as described below.
Server logs. Like nearly every website, the hosting server records technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, for security and troubleshooting.
Advertising measurement
This site uses the Google Ads tag to measure whether visitors who arrive from a Google ad go on to send the form or tap the phone or email link. This sets Google cookies and shares an anonymized event with Google. It does not send your name, message or any health information. The site does not use remarketing, does not build audience lists, and does not share any information with Google beyond that conversion event. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or through Google's ad settings.
What this site does not do
It does not sell personal information. It does not use social media pixels. It does not store form submissions on the website itself. It does not request or want detailed health information before you become a client.
Health information once you are a client
Scheduling, intake forms, video sessions and billing happen through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant platform. Your health information as a client is protected under HIPAA and California law and is covered by the Notice of Privacy Practices you receive at intake, not by this website policy.
Your choices and rights
You can contact me by phone or email instead of using the form. You can ask what information I hold about you from a website inquiry, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, and I will do so unless a legal or professional obligation requires otherwise. California residents have rights under state privacy law; this practice is a small business, but I honor these requests regardless.
Children
This website is intended for adults. Parents and guardians make initial contact on behalf of teens.
